Short animation created with The Wilderness Society and Intersectional Environmentalist. This piece tells the story of the 2018 Indigenous Women’s Hike organized by Jolie Varela. The group hiked the 200 mile Nuumu Poyo, known as the John Muir Trail. The hike is an important piece of a larger ongoing movement to honor the indigenous inhabitants of the lands and to restore the region’s cultural identity.
